Binnenstad, MaastrichtHistory In 1717 Guillaume Thyssen started his wine merchant in a stately home on the Grote Gracht in Maastricht. The building, from which the oldest cellars once belonged to the Maastricht fortifications, was and is ideal for storing wine.
